In 2001, Richard Mille broke with the traditional watchmaking style and introduced its first model, the RM 001, with a bold idea using innovative techniques and materials. It immediately attracted the attention of everyone in the watch industry. The RM 011 was born out of Mr. Mille's fascination with Formula 1 racing, of which he is an avid fan (which is why Richard Mille works closely with racing cars).
So in 2007, Mr. Mille teamed up with Formula One driver Felipe Massa (a Brazilian Formula One driver who used to drive for Ferrari and is known for his speed and as one of the "wildest driving styles") to launch the new RM 011 under the name Felipe Massa. The new RM 011 is a collaboration with Felipe Massa, the eponymous model.
The RM 011 draws on the high-tech sophistication of Formula One racing, with design, materials, details, movement and adaptability all based on the racing motto of "excellence".
The watch features a classic tonneau-shaped case in titanium echoing the materials used in racing, with a curved bezel, and a dial with red and white tonal details that reference the racing aesthetic.
